SUMMER Hiking and mountain biking are the best in the summer and fall. Caribou Lake is an easy day trip on a mountain bike. Miles of forest service roads are available for biking and trailheads to several mountain lakes are a short distance away. Activities at the lodge include horseshoes, huckleberry picking, morel mushroom foraging, mile high volley ball, evening campfires or just relaxing with a good book. Caribou Mountain Lodge is a very peaceful and private place. It is an excellent choice for retreats, workshops or reunions. Wildlife is everywhere. The Caribou Creek drainage is home to moose, elk, cougar, bobcat, mule deer, whitetail deer, black bear, martin, wild turkey, forest grouse, eagles, ravens and numerous species of hawks.
